The Northwest Indiana Rugby Club is proud to stand with the trans and nonbinary community. We have come together to extend our explicit invitation to all players to join us on and off the pitch. We intend to create a brave and supportive space for any and all players and community members who want to be involved with rugby. We embrace people of all backgrounds and identities, including and not limited to: race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, size, ability, sexuality, gender and/or its expression(s).
We stand firmly against the exclusion of trans and nonbinary athletes from any sport, and know that the inclusion of all identities makes our community stronger. Sharing medical details related to your gender identity or expression with our clubs is not required to play with us. Our cosigning teams commit to welcoming players of all identities and uplifting each and every member within our community.
We know that our sport is for everyone, and we would love to have you on our team. With you, and hope to see you on the pitch.
Northwest Indiana Rugby Club stands in firm opposition to USA Rugby’s new policy excluding trans women from the Women’s Division.
We do not support policies that single out, exclude, or marginalize athletes based on gender identity or other discrimination. We believe rugby is for everyone.
Our club remains unwavering in our commitment to be a brave, supportive, and inclusive space for our trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse members of all identities.
